1. How can I check to
see if I have a water leak and who is responsible for the water usage?
- Answer: To check for leak, turn off everything that uses water
in the house. Go out to the water meter. If the meter is turning,
you have a leak somewhere. Check toilets, faucets, etc. If unable to
locate the leak, you may want to call a plumber. Who is responsible?
The customer is responsible for all water that passes through the
meter.
-
- 2. When are water bills due?
- Answer: Water bills are sent out on the 20th each month. They
are always due the 10th of the following month. Payments can be
mailed, made in person at our office Monday through Friday from 8:00
AM to 5:00 PM, or dropped into our payment drop box. Please remember
that we bill a month in arrears so your bill is always a month
behind. If you have not received a bill by the 1st of the month, you
need to call the District. Failure to receive a bill does not negate
the responsibility of the customer. All bills are due by the 10th.
Late charges are $5.00 or l0% of bill, whichever is more. Just a
reminder... we charge a fee of $30.00 for returned checks and a
$50.00 charge for water reconnect if you should be turned off for
non-payment. In the event your water is disconnected repayment can
only be made by cash or money order, checks will NOT be accepted.

- 3. Can I request our meter to be tested?
- Answer: Yes, we can pull your meter and send it to be tested. If
it comes back with an error there will be no charge to you. However,
if it comes back as accurate, you will be charged a $50.00 testing
fee.

- 4. Who is responsible for maintenance on my street?
- Answer: If the street has been reconstructed and turned over to
the city or the county, that respective entity would be responsible
for road maintenance. If it is a street that still belongs under the
District, the District would be responsible for repairs. You may
call the District and request a work order be done. The phone number
is 512.321.1688. The office is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM
to 5:00 PM.
-
- 5. Why do I pay road fees? When are statements mailed and
when are they due?
- Answer: The Tahitian Village property owners voted to create a
road district. The $60.00 per lot per year is used for
new road construction, and road maintenance. Statements are mailed
three (3) times per year. Fees are due and payable by
December 31 of each year. If they are received late, there is a
$15.00 late fee. If not paid by due date, late and lien fees
will be assessed.
-
- 6. When will my road be paved?
- Answer: There is a 20 year Master Road Plan that dictates when
roads will be reconstructed. Collection of the yearly road fees is a
major factor in the District's ability to complete road projects. An
annual meeting is held to inform our customers of future projects.
-
- 7. I own property in Tahitian Village and I don't have a
decent road. Why?
- Answer. The district does not spend money on roads so people can
view their vacant lots. If a customer builds a home, the district
ensures a passable road to their property until the Master Plan can
be implemented and a paved road put into place.
